Becoming a volunteer gives seniors work to do that needs doing and leads to interaction with others and a sense of satisfaction.
Volunteer opportunities at the Center are many. They include telephone/reception desk duties, dining room duties, delivering Meals on Wheels, working on Monday Night Bingo teams, preparing the monthly newspaper for printing and mailing (computer skills helpful!), preparing envelopes for assorted mailings, decorating the dining room, helping with our monthly dinners, and providing special skills for facility maintenance/improvements or public entertainment.
The nationwide Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), administered locally by the Franklin County Officer of the Aging; recognizes individual volunteer achievements.
